  • 2005 December Dinner meeting
  • Club meeting was held on Friday evening Dec. 9th .
    Meeting was held at MCL Cafeteria, 2370 W. 86th street Indpls. IN;









    Our radio clubs 2005 theme : "Our 91st year; Get Radio Active!" ....










    Club members and their guest enjoyed and evening of fun and dinning.
    If you didnt get the meal you wanted ; it was your on fault,
    MCL has great food and a great staff , plus the great facilities for this dinner meeting.










    new and old hams and friends attended this meeting .....Meeting attendance was 65 !
    IRC membership is 125 and life members total 27 current of the 35 ever listed.













    IRC President ; Chuck Crist- W9IH welcomed attendees with the traditional
    " Merry Christmas & Happy New Year"!

    In place of Self introductions he ask all the irc members to stand
    and through elimination was able to determine the Oldest attending
    IRC Ham radio Member. Presentation of the 1st ever IRC Antique Ham award went
    to Bill Bancroft-W9EDE, age 87 years young. were followed by:

    []Newsletter editor Appointment……Mike Newman- KA9ZKV volunteered to take over from Tom Price - WB9UNG!

    []next were the awards presentations:

    -IRC Life Membership certificates…were presented to Tom Chance-K9XV,Chuck Crist-W9IH & Jeff Hammer- N9NIC
    recognizing their life membership dues paid. (not shown)





    -IRC Certificates of appreciation were presented to..
    Bob-W9PSE, Ed-N9IZN & Tom- WB9UNG
    for their support of the IRC and Amateur Radio in the
    Indianapolis community.








    -IRC Special Appreciation Certificate was presented to
    Barb Crist- KB9BSV;
    for her contributions to IRC meetings and committee activities.



    []-Monthly Travel Awards: Keepers..

    -Dec Mentor went to Mike Henney -KE9YA for his outstanding organization of the October JOTA event .
    Mike also gets to keep the Mentor award permanently...!
    -DX award was presented to Ken Bandy-KC9GLQ, he keeps the award permanently...!
    -Digital award was presented to Bob Osterhous-W9PSE,he keeps the award permanently...!
    -QRP award was presented to Steve Wendt-KB9RDS,he keeps the award permanently...!
    -Homebrew award was presented to Jim Reinhart-K9RU,he keeps the award permanently...!
    - The Mobile HF/VHF award was not presented...(no winners)

    Annual Ham radio awards:
    -




    -IRC annual sponsor award to Web-Navigation
    for hosting the IRC website was
    excepted on their behalf by Pat Price.








    -IRC Outstanding Amateur of the Year award was presented
    to Mr. Gale Wuollet- AA9WU
    for his contributions to the Indianapolis ham community and
    especially to the Volunteer Examiner and license testing program.
    Most of you probably were tested by Gale.!












    -IRC "Marconi" Award for technical excellence was presented
    to Mr Paul Bohrer-W9DUU for
    continued help and service in the Indianapolis Amateur radio community.












    -IRC Youth Ham awards, (3) selected, only Kyle Bandy- KC9GLR
    was available to receive his Certificate of appreciation for outstanding
    participation in the Indianapolis area..

    December Program was: ….." Australian Medical trip ". .
    by Dr. Gary Stouder-K9SG











    Gary gave attendees a tour of todays; Austrialian medical program and added highlights
    of the compairisons to the USA medical programs .
    There were some interesting Ham radio related notes provided .
    If you missed this presentation, you missed out on all the FUN!

    Free Prize drawing was coordinated by Bob Osterhous-W9PSE.(thanks Bob)
    There were several nice prizes including a pair of great gifts for the Program speaker..
    I think Pat Price plans to by a new vacuum cleaner with her Fry's Gift certificate.!!!

    Next Meeting:..Friday, January 13th 2006, at 7:00PM at the
    Indianap9olis Trainning Center 2820 N Meridian street Indpls. IN;
    This will also be our 1st annual Chilli Cook -OFF .... ...Talk in 146.67/r

    Program will be: "Echo Link " ; Presented ,is David Spoelstra -N9KT .
